Happy New Year!

New Year's Eve was a family fun evening in our house. The boys picked out some decorations and we ordered pizzas and had cupcakes. The boys stayed up until midnight and Jake was still going strong! He did fall asleep immediately after getting in bed but I think the boy could have made it another hour or two! Austin was eager to say "Happy New Year" and blow the air horns he picked out so we celebrated about 8:00 and then watched movies until midnight. As soon as we made our own new year announcement to the world, Jeremy and I surprised the boys with silly string! Austin loved it!

Jake hated it!

Apparently January in Ohio can create some stir crazy kids. These boys decided to make there own roller coaster. Jake was strapped in and yelling "whoo hoo" while Austin pushed him around the house! We may need to get out a bit more!

Austin had his first basketball game last week. The boys' names are called out individually and they run out of this sign and into a wall of smoke while all the parents cheer!

I love the concept of Upward sports! They really encourage each child and build their individual worth as well as their worth in Christ.

After each game the boys go into another room and have snacks and get a color coded star to iron onto their shirts. Austin received a blue star for best effort. He played his heart out and was such a good sport when it was his turn to watch. In Kindergarten they don't keep an official score but Austin will tell you his team won 4-0. There were really a lot more baskets made by both teams. :)
