Chicago Visit

We have wanted to visit Trisha and her new home for quite some time and we finally made it! Trisha's house is very nice and the boys especially loved that it had stairs, that is apparently what makes a house! :) The highlight for the boys was a trip into the city of Chicago on the train! Jake called it the coo-coo train. I'll let the pictures tell you the rest.

Jake was getting a lesson on not crossing the yellow line! He would have loved to play on the tracks though!
We missed the first train of the day by about three seconds!! So, went to Target and found some fun. We made it back to the train station in plenty of time for the later train!! The boys were waiting very patiently!
Austin was so excited to ride on the second floor of the train. We took turns sitting up there with him and he mostly wanted to sit up there by himself. On the way home he sat on top almost the whole time and made some friends with the boys who sat across from him. The whole train could "enjoy" the noise these boys made. It was a first train ride for all of them.
Enjoying the city. The weather was nice and warm. It was a great day for venturing out.
At one of the parks (Millenium Park?) there was a giant mirrored thing, I don't even know what you call it. Anyway, it was fun to see the reflections of the city and all the people. Here is the only picture I have of all five of us together.

Jake loved this thing, obviously!
The boys enjoyed coloring at the Disney store. We stumbled upon their store after learning that FAO Shwartz had closed down in Chicago.

Jake loves to cook! He enjoyed helping Trisha make a great brunch with eggs, pancakes and bacon. We had to hit the road after brunch and come back to the reality of work and school.

Thanks for a fun weekend Trisha!

Yup, Millenium Park. And the "mirror" is called The Bean. Good memory!
