Moments to Remember

This blog is for you to stay informed of our happenings but also for me to look back at when I can't remember anything anymore! So, read if you wish. About two weeks ago Jake's words became really clear and about a week later he started putting two words together. His most common phrase is "sorry Mommy." He loves to ask if everyone is okay and he goes over it many times: "Mommy, okay? Aust, okay? Daddy, okay?" At night he loves to rock in the rocking chair and he always waits until we're sitting down, then he says "pick" because he wants to get up and pick out a book. He loves to read now! He is a mischievous little boy. Today he climbed on the toilet and then onto the bathroom sink and stood up, opened the medicine cabinet and tried to shave with Jeremy's razor, got out the vaseline and cologne. He loves to sneak in the bathroom, stand on the toilet and turn on the water so he can splash in the sink. Yesterday Austin had a stepladder in the kitchen because he wanted to hand wash some dishes. When Austin walked away Jake immediately climbed the ladder, onto the counter and found the M&M's in the cabinet. I walked in because he was being very quiet. He was so content sitting on the counter with his M&M's. Needless to say he has spent a lot of time in time out the last few weeks. His most firm discipline was after he ran out into the street while I was trying to get him in the car.

Austin has really been enjoying preschool. He had silly sock day and a pancake and pajama day. This week he's looking forward to his Valentine party. He's getting very excited about his fifth birthday coming up in a few weeks. He is such a good boy and really likes helping Jake by carrying him. It is funny when Austin comes to me and says "Jake is driving me nuts! He needs a time out!" I can usually take Austin at his word when he says that Jake is doing something. He has also started taking showers by himself which is huge because he hates to have water splash in his face. He is still growing very fast, looking and acting more like a big boy! Jeremy and I have been very proud of Austin for his love of Bible stories and recently his prayers. Here is my favorite prayer that he says often, and learned at preschool:
Thank you for God for the World so sweet, thank you for the food we eat. Thank you you for the birds that sing, thank you for...(he fills in the blank with whatever he's thinking about at that moment."

Two totally different kids with such fun personalities and parents who can't get enough of them! We love our boys!
